Margaret ‘Marge’ Bunting, retired CNA
Margaret “Marge” Bunting, 66, of Lewes, formerly of Harrisburg, Lenoxville and Upper Darby, Pa., passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
Marge was born in Ireland April 13, 1954, daughter of the late James Murphy and the late Sarah (Conaty) Murphy. She moved to the United States when she was 3 years old and earned her citizenship in 1973.
Marge worked as a CNA for Jewish Nursing Homes in Scranton and Harrisburg, Pa., prior to moving to Lewes in 2000. After moving to Lewes, Marge worked as a CNA at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, retiring in 2016.
She received joy in taking care of others. She always wanted to help those in their time of need, and she did that even after retirement by volunteering at the Food Bank in Millsboro. Marge enjoyed gardening, playing solitaire and loved to dance. She will be remembered as having no filter and letting you know where you stood with her, and the love and patience that she showed to her family, friends and patients.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Phillip Murphy, Seamus Murphy, John Murphy and Terrance Murphy; and a sister, Kathleen Jones. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Francis C. Bunting; two sons, Seamus Bunting of Harrisburg and Frank Bunting of Harrisburg; and four grandchildren, Sophia Bunting, Aedan Bunting, Frank Bunting and Kara Bunting. Marge is also survived by two sisters, Ann Marie Elko and her husband Rick of Chester Springs, Pa., and Mary Costigan and her husband James of Lenoxville, Pa.; and a brother, Joseph Murphy of Orange County, Fla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 23, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. Social distancing protocols will be observed and masks are required for those in attendance.
