Margaret Beth Tice was born Nov. 23, 1953, to Robert D. Hayden and Patricia Hayden. She grew up in Milford. In 1974, she earned the title of Mom, giving birth to her firstborn son, Atley Brent "BJ" Vickers Jr. In 1976, she gave birth to her second son, Olin James "OJ" Vickers.

She worked at numerous restaurants and was the quintessential waitress/server, including at Norma’s in Milton and Lone Star on Rehoboth Avenue. She also worked at Milford Stitching during her younger years.

In 1983, while attending her son’s Little League game at Lewes Little League, she met her future husband, William P. Tice. The two became one July 23, 1983, and had just celebrated 43 years of marriage together. Maggi added four additional children to her nest: Chris, Billy, Scott and Sarah Tice. She and Bill continued to raise their blended family, later welcoming three daughters-in-law, Monique Vickers, Monica Tice and Christina Tice; and a son-in-law, Duncan Culton. Maggi would be blessed with 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was instrumental in raising and nurturing numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

She is survived by two elder siblings, John (Judy) Hayden and Pat Campbell White (late Don White), and her younger half-sister, Frances Reed (late Rob Reed).

She will join her father, Robert D. Hayden; her mother, Patricia P. Hayden; her brother Robert "Bobby" Hayden; her sister Lisa Vaughn Hayden; and her brother Robert Vaughn Hayden, in glory in the sweet by and by.

Maggi and William Tice relocated from Lewes to Harrington in 2000, where they were active in the harness horse racing circuit for 12 years. From 2000 to 2020, Maggi was everyone’s favorite bartender at Harrington Moose Lodge, and she cared for all the children there – no matter the age.

In 2020, she needed a lung transplant, and in 2023 she was a successful lung transplant recipient at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. By the grace of God and the wonders of modern medicine, she was granted three additional wonderful years of life. From 2023 onward, she enjoyed spending every moment living life with her husband, William Tice, and her loving family.

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 5:15 a.m., Maggi was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where she will spend eternity with the one true living God, Jesus Christ, who took the sting out of death and snatched victory from the grave.

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” – 1 Corinthians 15:55–57.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9, at Harrington Moose Lodge, Harrington.
