Mariner baseball takes win from Beacon

Mariner Middle School won a hard-fought 9-3 game over Beacon May 8 at Cape’s Chris Short Field.

Mariner’s Liam Mitchell started the game on the mound and went 2.2 innings, with three strikeouts. Dominick Mangini came in from the bullpen to throw 4.1 innings, giving up only two hits and one earned run.

Trizton Willey, Aaden Johnson and Noah Miafodzyeu all had two hits for the Milton-based Vikings.  

Mangini and Johnson led Mariner with two RBIs each. 

Nicholas Clampitt and Carter Staggs led Beacon with an RBI each. Theo Hart went 2-for-3 on the day.

Clampitt pitched four innings, striking out four batters. Ethan James came in from the bullpen and threw two innings. 

Mariner improved to 9-1 on the season, while Beacon fell to 4-4.
