Mariner girls’ basketball downs DAFB Middle

The Mariner girls’ basketball team poured on the offense Jan. 13 to down the Riders of Dover Air Force Base Middle School 36-12 at Mariner. The win moves the Lady Vikings to 2-2 on the season.
Ava Iacono led all scorers with 14 points. Jurnee White hit for seven, while Olivia Burkentine and Grace Wiggins each scored four. Morgan Newcomb scored three. Lily Joyce hit a basket, and Grace Feather and Ja’niya Hinton each scored a foul shot.
The Vikings travel to Selbyville Thursday, Jan. 15, to face the Indians.
