Mariner volleyball defeats Providence Creek Academy 2-1

Vikings get first win of the season
October 16, 2018

The Mariner volleyball team looked like a well-oiled machine Oct.15, as the Vikings defeated Providence Creek Academy 2-1 before an appreciative crowd of Vikings fans. After dropping the opening set 23-25, Mariner bounced back with 25-18 and 15-8 wins in the final two sets.

“They finally put everything they have been learning together and looked like the team they can be,” said coach Alison Botti. “Behind the service line, they were unstoppable. Mia Barone and Jules Souder together served 23 points of the game match. That takes concentration to not miss your serve, and those girls were awesome. We are a young team, and I’m excited to see their potential grow.”

The Vikings travel to Selbyville Wednesday, Oct. 17, to take on the Indians.
