Martin Vincent Parker Sr., retired Marine Corps sgt.

(Ret.) Staff Sargent Martin Vincent Parker Sr., 61, departed in this life Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, due to complications of head trauma from a work related accident in 2013.

Born Oct. 18, 1957, in Baltimore, Md., he was raised in Clarksville by his paternal Uncle Henry and Aunt Louise Smith with love and guidance from his biological father, Pierce Parker Sr.

Vincent went to Frankford Elementary in his early years, graduating from Indian River High School, class of 1975. Soon after graduation he enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corp.  A passion he had at an early age was to serve his country. During his time of service, Vincent met and married his beloved late wife of 33 years, Dollann Elias.

He leaves behind a son, Martin Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Camille Parker of Millsboro, Margaret Parker-Bailey of Ocean View and Chonice Parker-Fisher of Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, Pierce Parker Sr. of Baltimore; and a cousin, Stephanie Haygood of Selbyville.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St.,, where a private service for family only, will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m.

Flowers and cards will be welcome at the memorial service.
