Mary Liza Jackson, loved the Lord

Mary Liza Jackson, 87, daughter of the late Harriett and the Rev. George C. Bailey, was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Jamesville, Va.  She departed this life Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at her home in Millsboro. 

She was educated in the public-school system in North Hampton County, Va. Mary was united in holy matrimony to the late Cpl. Raymond Lee Jackson April 25, 1953, in Jamesville.

She loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to gospel music with her favorite being “I Can’t Give Up.”  She had a good sense of humor and loved laughing and joking around.

Mary leaves to cherish her fond memories her three daughters, Linda L. Dorsey (Alex), Gladys M. Harmon, and Mary Emma Jackson (who was also her caregiver) all of Millsboro.  She also leaves behind three sons, Ronnie M. Jackson and Forrest Jackson of Millsboro, and Anthony R. Jackson (Linda) of Willingboro, N.J.  She  is also survived by one sister-in-law Leonora Bailey of Millsboro, as well as 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Oct. 17, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon for viewing and visitation.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Millsboro.
