A Maryland man will be sentenced in Delaware Superior Court in Georgetown Thursday, Sept. 17, after pleading guilty to two counts of home improvement fraud in which prosecutors allege he took more than $1 million in payments from six people and never completed the work.

Dylan Crew, 27, of Westminster, Md., could face a maximum of eight years in prison on the charges. The charges Crew pled guilty to are a Class D felony, meaning the loss to the person who purchased the home improvement is at least $50,000 but less than $100,000, according to Delaware State Code. 

Delaware State Police began investigating Crew in October 2024, after they allege he signed contracts with six people for residential renovations and other construction work in Sussex County. Crew received more than $1 million in payments and did not complete any of the jobs, police said. Crew operated under the business name of Coastline Contractors Group LLC.

Warrants were obtained for Crew’s arrest in March 2025, and he turned himself in to Troop 4 in Georgetown. He was originally charged with three counts home improvement fraud by false impression $100,000 or more; two counts of home improvement fraud by false pretense $1,500 or more, victim is over 62 or impaired/disabled; home improvement fraud $1,500 or more; three counts theft where property value is $100,000 or more; theft $1,500 or greater, victim is over 62; theft $1,500 or greater, victim is over 62 or impaired/disabled; and theft $1,500 or more.
