Meals on Wheels Beach Brunch fundraiser set Oct. 3 in Dewey

August 25, 2021

Meals on Wheels Delaware will unveil a new format for its 2021 Beach Brunch, set for 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach. Patrons can savor a seated gourmet brunch prepared by local guest chefs, and proceeds support a great cause – feeding more than 6,200 homebound seniors in Delaware each year.

Talented local chefs will each prepare a brunch-themed course to pair with brunch cocktails. Guests can also enjoy live and silent auctions, and entertainment by Hot Sauce Band. Current social distancing guidelines in effect will be observed.

Participating chefs include Maria Fraser of the Café on 26 in Ocean View, Bill and Jess Wallen of Grain on the Rocks in Lewes, Kathleen Hy of Salt Air in Rehoboth Beach, Craig Clifton of Bramble & Brine at the Buttery in Lewes, and Ellie Keck of SoDel Concepts, which has 12 restaurants in coastal Sussex County.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with brunch seating and service starting at 11. Seating will be assigned for event guests. Tickets are $100 per person and can be reserved at mealsonwheelsde.org/event/beach-brunch-2021. Space is limited; early reservations are encouraged.

Visit the Beach Brunch site above for details on sponsorship opportunities, including the chance to sponsor and design a unique pair of Adirondack chairs for the fundraiser auction.
