Merle D. McMaster, retired co. president

Merle D. McMaster, 87, of Lewes, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Oct. 19, 1929, in St. Petersburg, Pa., son of the late John Harvey McMaster and Nina Matilda Craig McMaster.

Mr. McMaster retired in 1994 as president of the Teledyne Rodney Metals Division of Teledyne Corporation based out of Los Angeles, Calif., with holdings throughout the world. He began his career in the audit department of the company and was very adept at numbers and watching the financials for the company.

Mr. McMaster was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed a game of golf when time permitted and loved sailing, especially in the New England area.

Mr. McMaster is survived by his wife Jacqueline D. McMaster; four children from his previous marriage, Craig McMaster (Becky), Mars, Pa., Belinda Mesko (John), Irwin, Pa., Scott McMaster (Dianne), New Castle, Pa., and Michelle McMaster (Mike) of Gibsonia, Pa.; six grandchildren, Jason, Pete, Rachel, Ryan, William and Christina; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison and Greyson; and his former spouse, Barbara McMaster of Valencia, Pa.

Funeral Services with military honors will be held Friday, Sept. 1, at 3 p.m., at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where viewing will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be private.
