Michael Paul Isabell, had a big heart

Michael Paul Isabell, 74, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes with his wife, Nancy at his side.  

Mike was born Feb. 9, 1948, in Waukesha, Wis., to Richard and Elaine (Held) Isabell. He attended Waukesha High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and served in Wisconsin Army National Guard. He then enjoyed a long and successful career in the water treatment industry. For over 40 years his various positions, including engineering, manufacturing, product development, and design and sales, took him to customer locations around the world.

Away from work, Mike loved to spend time on his boat fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, or playing on the nearest golf course. Following retirement, Mike and Nancy relocated to Milton. He became involved in the community, volunteering with the Town of Milton water committee, Milton Historical Society, and Milton Farmers Market. He was a big man with a big heart and a generous spirit.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother David Isabell. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy (Goebel) Isabell; brothers-in-law, William Goebel and Richard (Marie) Goebel; nephews, Thomas (Kim) Isabell and Aaron (Tiffany) Goebel; nieces, Kristin (John) Crenshaw, Amanda (Daniel) Kaufenberg, Jennifer (Praveen) Sehgal and Angela Goebel; other cherished relatives; and many dear friends.

The funeral service will be private. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Short Funeral Services, Milton.
