Michael W. Moore, NASCAR fan

Michael W. Moore of Georgetown passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at his home.

Mike was born Aug. 4, 1959, to the late Joseph Moore Sr. and Anna Moore. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brother Joseph Moore Jr. and sister Trudy Clayton.

Mr. Moore is survived by his daughter, Koren Perkins and husband Randy; son, Jason Moore and wife Heather; daughter, Lindsay Cannon and husband Jeremiah; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Hazel Davis, Margaret Bradley, William Moore (Betty), Ralph Moore (Joanne) Otis Moore, David Moore (Connie) and Johnny Moore; many nieces and nephews; as well as several great-nieces and -nephews.

Mike worked the majority of his life for Vlasic Pickles Company in Millsboro, until its closing in 2013. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a big NASCAR fan with his favorite driver being Jeff Gordan. Mike was an easy-going man who just enjoyed life. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, at Short Funeral Home, 609 East Market St., Georgetown, where friends may pay their respects to the family from noon to 1 p.m. Burial will be at Milton Cemetery, Union Street, Milton.
