Mid Atlantic Field Hockey Camp celebrates 36 years at Cape Henlopen State Park

August 7, 2013

The Mid Atlantic Field Hockey Camp ran for its 36th summer at Cape Henlopen State Park July 21-25 and July 28-Aug 1.

Sanctioned by the United States Field Hockey Association, MAFHC promotes the sport of field hockey while teaching the techniques of movement, dribbling, passing, shooting, tackling, and offensive and defensive tactics.

Camp director Frannie Slabonik, who has been involved with MAFHC for 36 years as a camper, counselor and director, welcomed more than 225 campers to the camp this session.

"We had a waiting list this session," said Slabonik. "We were able to fill every slot."

Joining her as field hockey directors were Kiley Kulina-Strohm and Denise Gobrecht, who has been involved with MAFHC since its inception in 1978.
