Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra’s 2026-27 program, titled New Worlds, Timeless Wonders, and led by Music Director Michael Repper, will feature classical favorites, hidden gems and cherished audience traditions.

"This season reflects everything we love about making music," said Repper. "From timeless classics to remarkable rediscoveries, from internationally recognized guest artists to intimate chamber performances, each concert invites audiences to explore new musical landscapes while celebrating works that continue to inspire us today."

Cape Region performances open with From London to America at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes. The program features Dvořák's "Serenade for Strings," Haydn's triumphant Symphony No. 104 "London" and Florence Price's moving "Adoration."

In November, the orchestra shines a spotlight on one of Maryland's most significant musical voices with Mary Howe Rediscovered, pairing three of Howe's orchestral works with Schubert's Symphony No. 5 and Beethoven's Symphony No. 8. The local performance is set for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth Beach.

Featuring festive favorites, carols and orchestral music for the whole family, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Joy concert is set for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, at Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes. With luminous solos, warm duets and spirited ensembles, featured vocalists will be tenor David Morgans and mezzo-soprano Lauren Torey.

Programming continues in the spring with Canyons, Constellations & Classics, featuring music by Jessie Montgomery and Tanner Porter, Aaron Copland's Clarinet Concerto with YaoGuang Zhai, principal clarinet of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Mozart's Symphony No. 29. The Cape Region concert is set for 3 p.m., Saturday, April 10, at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach. 

The full orchestra season concludes with Discoveries, Reflections & Healing, featuring Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's "Novelletten"; Ralph Vaughan Williams' Oboe Concerto performed by Dwight Parry, principal oboe of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra; and Louise Farrenc's Symphony No. 3. The Cape Region performance is set for 3 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach. 

The orchestra's ensembles series also returns with four intimate chamber music programs performed by MSO members, all performed at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach. Audiences will enjoy Romantic masterpieces inspired by Robert and Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10. A festive Holiday Brass program is set for 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19. A woodwinds and strings ensemble will celebrate Beethoven's legacy, marking the 200th anniversary of his death, at 3 p.m., Feb. 6. An exploration of Italian chamber music featuring works of Puccini, Donizetti and Verdi will begin at 3 p.m, Saturday, May 15.
