Milford man dies after struck by motorcycle

A Milford man died Jan. 22 after he was struck by a motorcycle while walking to his mailbox.

K.C. Hurry, 85, had pulled into his driveway on Log Cabin Road at 5:57 p.m. when he got out and started crossing the road to get his mail, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police.

In the center of the road, the man was struck by a 2004 Suzuki GSX driven by a Milford man, 24, traveling northbound on Log Cabin Road, Pepper said.

The Suzuki overturned, and the driver was ejected from the motorcycle; Hurry was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The motorcycle operator suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Log Cabin Road was closed for about three hours while the investigation was completed and the roadway cleared.
