Mill Pond Garden will be open to visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Sunday, July 19, at 31401 Melloy Court, Lewes.

The garden shares an abundance of flowering species and a lot of fragrance, pollinators and wildlife.

Among the blooms visitors may expect to see are crape myrtles, dahlias, zinnias, daylilies, lilies, waterlilies, roses, salvia, begonias, morning glorys, hibiscus and foxgloves. Wildlife commonly seen along the waterfront property includes bald eagles, mallards, Canada geese, green herons, great blue herons, cormorants, sharp-shinned hawks, frogs, garter snakes, lizards, lots of bunnies and squirrels, all the common garden birds and a wild snapping turtle called Allie. 

As a botanical garden and Certified Wildlife Habitat recognized by the National Wildlife Federation, the property is designed to attract and support a large variety of native birds, pollinators and many other animals.

Parking is free and close by. The garden is wheelchair accessible with a pusher and welcomes photographers.
