Mills, Lagree and Gossett deserve our votes
As we approach the important city elections, I want to compliment the Cape Gazette on its outstanding endorsement of Stan Mills, Jay Lagree and Patrick Gossett. I know the editors not only were open to interviews with all the candidates (as they are every year), and printed questions and answers from each of them, but also listened carefully to their responses in the Chamber of Commerce Candidates Forum, moderated by Publisher Emeritus Dennis Forney. The Cape Gazette staff has closely followed and reported on this campaign for the next leaders of Rehoboth Beach. This careful study of the candidates’ positions revealed that these three candidates truly are the candidates with the right values, the right priorities and the right experience to lead the city forward.
As a citizen, I have been extremely disappointed in Paul Kuhns’ lack of transparency, and disregard for the views of residents and property owners. He promised to be the mayor who listened, but was quite the opposite. He tried to limit citizen participation, not expand it.
But I am not encouraging a vote against Paul. I am encouraging votes for Stan Mills, Jay Lagree and Patrick Gossett. They understand us. They share our values and vision. They are the most qualified candidates. Vote Mills, Lagree and Gossett Aug. 8 or by absentee ballot.
