Millsboro man injured in single-vehicle crash in Lewes

A Millsboro man has suffered serious injuries as a result of a single-vehicle crash about 10:09 a.m., Feb. 13.

The man, 66, was driving a 2017 Kia Forte westbound on Route 24 east of Jolyns Way near Lewes when police say for unknown reasons, the Kia crossed the highway centerline and ran off the road into a wooded area, where it struck a tree.

The man, who was the sole occupant, was not properly restrained. He was taken to Beebe Healthcare with serious injuries. His name is being withheld at this time, police said.

Route 24 in the area of Jolyns Way was closed for more than two hours while the crash was cleared. The crash remains under investigation.
