A Millsboro teen faces charges Sept. 10 after police found drugs in his car during a traffic stop near Georgetown.

Delaware State Police stopped Guy J. Burton, 19, at 3:25 p.m., after they saw him driving a white Dodge van without his seatbelt and he failed to stop at a red light, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police. During the traffic stop, she said, police saw marijuana in plain view on the floorboard. Burton exited the van without incident while police searched the van.

Inside, Pepper said police found:

  • 1,139 doses of ecstasy
  • 598 bags of heroin (approximately 4.186 grams)
  • Approximately 1.91 grams of marijuana
  • Approximately 0.02 grams of crack
  • Drug paraphernalia

Burton was transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in tier 3 and tier 2 quantities, both felonies. He was also charged with other drug and traffic charges. Burton was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $13,150 secured bond.
