The Milton Arts Guild will hold its Eighth Annual ArtWalk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, featuring 31 artists exhibiting their work on porches throughout downtown Milton. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 11.
The public can stroll the route to view and purchase works from artists who work in a wide range of media and from a wide range of perspectives.
Event maps will be available in the Milton Arts Guild gallery at 107 Federal St.
This year's event wlll also highlight the guild’s collaboration with other community organizations. Dogfish Head Brewery, a longtime supporter of Milton Arts Guild, will host an artist under its treehouse. Also playing roles in this year's event will be Milton Main Street, Milton Garden Club, Women’s Club of Milton, Milton Theatre, Milton Public Library, Milton Community Crochet Club, Linda Vista Real Estate Services and Monsterful.
“ArtWalk is Milton Arts Guild’s most popular event of the year and typically attracts more than 200 walkers to participate in a leisurely day of art,” said Lynda Rae Gannon, guild president. “The collaboration with our fellow Milton organizations not only enhances walkers’ experiences, but strengthens MAG’s commitment as a community-facing organization.”
For the first time, the day’s festivities will include music along the route, thanks to Milton Main Street. Musicians will perform at various locations throughout town at various times, including Miss Maria, Joe Barbella, Catch the Drift, The Past, Alex Razze, Kim DeBonte, Storm the Band and Allie Donovan.
Linda Vista Plaza on Union Street will be one of Milton Main Street’s key music venues, as will Milton Theatre Quayside and Monsterful on Federal Street.
Milton Garden Club will hold its fall plant sale on the lawn at Milton Historical Society. The Women's Club of Milton will hold a special raffle on Union Street, and Milton Community Crochet Club will display its artists’ work at the Milton Public Library.
