Milton Community Foundation says thanks

May 26, 2020

On behalf of the board of the Milton Community Foundation, I want to sincerely thank our community in and around Milton who have made and continue to make the Milton COVID-19 Relief Campaign a way to help our community members directly impacted by the pandemic.

To date, over 150 $75 Food Lion gift cards have been distributed to families and individuals to help provide food security.  They were and continue to be identified by various Milton schools, civic, business and religious groups out of the need to respect their privacy.

When we initiated the campaign April 14, the original goal was $10,000.  Due to the overwhelming support of the community, we surpassed this goal in less than two weeks.  As a result, we revised the goal to $20,000 and as of May 15 we have raised over $15,000.   The MCF is continuing to reach out to the community for opportunities to help.  Our latest effort is to provide 109 $20 Food Lion gift cards to the Harry K Foundation.  The cards will be put into backpacks of Milton students who rely on this daily food distribution.

For those who want to help in this effort, please donate to this campaign and be assured that all of the funds will go to help families and individuals in need.

The MCF has set up an online GoFundMe campaign: Milton DE COVID-19 Relief, charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/milton-de-covid-19-relief

You can also donate by check made out to Milton Community Foundation with a notation of COVID-19 Relief and mail to: Milton Community Foundation, P.O. Box 12, Milton, DE 19968.

If at the end of this crisis, there are funds or gift cards left over, they will be donated to the Milton Community Food Pantry.
