Milton council donates $3,000 to garden club

Milton Town Council donated $3,000 to the Milton Garden Club on the occasion of the club’s 20th anniversary.
Mayor Ted Kanakos read a proclamation for the club, represented at the council’s Oct. 1 meeting by (l-r) Kathryn Grieg, Sandy Winterbottom and Gillian Benson.
Kanakos said the club was established in 1998 by Jane Clark to put Milton on the map through flowers. Since then, the club has planted 10 gardens and 50 planters around town, and raised funds for projects to keep Milton beautiful, he said. RYAN MAVITY PHOTO
