Milton Historical Society celebrates with a chef cook-off

November 8, 2019

Milton Historical Society’s gala fundraiser brought the cows home at Covered Bridge Inn Oct. 23. Guests were welcomed by the Hot Sauce Band, an oyster raw bar by Dogfish Head’s Chesapeake & Maine, and a complimentary seasonal cocktail sponsored by Irish Eyes Milton. Inside the barn, a silent and live auction kicked off the festivities.

Chefs from local restaurants included The Counting House, Gilligan’s Bar and Grill, Paul’s Kitchen and Cullen-ary Company, and Two Meatballs, which sparred for top honors as the annual Celebrity Chef Cook-Off provided tasty bites for attendees. Critics’ Choice award went to Vinnie Ercolino of Two Meatballs in Long Neck, and the People's Choice Award winner was Jamie Parsons from Gilligan's of Milton and Lewes.

Nearly 200 guests attended and more than $40,000 was raised. The funds support the museum’s collection of the rich history of Milton, maintaining the museum, bringing in new exhibits, oral histories, and providing youth and adult programs to the community.
