Milton Historical Society celebrates town’s frozen past

Exhibit open through May 29
January 23, 2017

Supporters and volunteers enjoyed a sweet, frozen treat Jan. 13 as they welcomed the opening of the Milton Historical Society’s “Paradise Frost: Milton’s Frozen History” exhibit. The exhibit, which will remain on display through Monday, May 29, explores topics from the ice-harvesting industry led by Miltonian James “Handy” Prettyman in the early 20th century to ice cream manufacturing. Some artifacts included in the exhibit, some of which are on loan from the Milford Museum, date back to the 18th century.

King’s Ice Cream provided free samples during the opening of the exhibit, which is free to the public. For more information, stop by the Lydia B. Cannon Museum at 210 Union St., call 302-684-1010 or go to historicmilton.org.
