Milton Little Leaguers ready to play ball

April 17, 2019

A little rain couldn’t stop the boys and girls of Milton Little League from kicking off the 2019 season April 13. The Opening Day parade and ceremonies were delayed two hours, but went off without a hitch as a light mist fell from the sky.

Following a parade from Milton Elementary School through downtown, teams gathered along the edge of the infield for Opening Day ceremonies, featuring the infamous golf ball drop, the singing of the national anthem, and ceremonial first pitches. Kathy Newcomb was honored with the Hometown Hero Award for her efforts to add lights to the minor league fields.
