A Milton man faces his fourth driving under the influence charge after a traffic stop March 25 in Harbeson.
Eugene F. Frederick, 48, was driving on Martins Farm Road at 11:50 p.m. when police pulled him over for a traffic stop, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.
Police detected a strong smell of alcohol and conducted a DUI investigation, Jaffe said. While searching the vehicle, she said, police found a hunting knife, about .20 grams of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
A computer check revealed Frederick had three prior DUI convictions, making this his fourth offense, Jaffe said. Frederick was charged with felony fourth-offense driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and other drug and traffic charges.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $10,606 secured bail.
