Milton Theatre offers Resilience Arts classes online

May 16, 2020

Milton Theatre announced Resilience Arts, a new online academy that springboards from its successful Musical Theatre Ensemble FAME Academy theatre programs. With video conferencing technologies enabling artists of different kinds to share their skills virtually, the Milton Theatre is gearing up for condensed weeklong classes that are easily accessible to everyone, everywhere.

The first two courses offered are Broadway Cabaret and Jazz Dance.

Broadway Cabaret, for students in middle school and high school, is an intensive and highly focused performance course. Students will create a cabaret-style concert to be recorded and showcased online. They will gain a broader understanding of musical theatre from their participation in a fun and exciting performance experience.

Jazz Cabaret participants of elementary school age will learn the steps and choreography to the hit song "Can’t Stop the Feeling.” The class is perfect for beginners looking to explore jazz dance or just to get up and move. Instruction will be concentrated on body awareness, movement technique and basic dance steps. Students will start out learning vital stretches before moving toward learning a full dance routine they can show off to family and friends.

More exciting classes for all ages are planned to include a wide range of interests; they will be led by professionals from all over the state.
