Milton Theatre to present ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ April 19-21

April 15, 2019

Easter is fast approaching, and with it comes the first in-house production for the Milton Theatre, “Jesus Christ Superstar.” With a cast composed of regional talent from the Northeast, it is expected to be one of the event highlights in Delmarva on its full weekend run, Friday to Sunday, April 19 to 21. The Milton Theatre is set to pull out all the stops for its first production to serve as a springboard for more self-produced shows in the future.

The production team is set to completely transform the Milton Theatre’s physical stage, and a creative plan will make full use of the space that originally served as a movie theater. The team will take advantage of the theatre’s newly installed digital lighting system to add a rousing atmosphere to this Broadway rock classic.

With some shows close to sold out and an additional Sunday show added, the Milton Theatre’s production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” is set to attract audiences both local and out of state.

The Milton Theatre cast is also proud to announce that four of the featured songs from the musical are now available for download on iTunes. Produced by Charlie Hannagan, who plays Jesus, and featuring Rylynn Woods as Mary Magdalene, Austin Barnes as Judas, and Jason Beil as Pontius Pilate, a portion of the proceeds from the self-produced album will be donated to the Milton Theatre. Included songs are “Heaven On Their Minds,” “Pilate’s Dream,” “I Don’t Know How To Love Him,” and “Gethsemane.”

Show tickets are $27-$32. Purchase tickets at www.MiltonTheatre.com, by calling 302-684-3038 or at the box office, 110 Union St., Milton. Available showtimes are 8 p.m, Friday, April 19; 2 and 8 p.m., Saturday, April 20; and 2 and 7:30 p.m., Sunday, April 21. This event is for guests of all ages.

The Milton Theatre is at 110 Union St. in downtown historic Milton along the Broadkill River.
