A 23-year-old Milton woman is in jail after police connected her to two recent Sussex County robberies.

The first incident occurred about 1:20 p.m., Nov. 1, when An'Deshia B. Satchell approached a woman sitting in a car parked south of East Market Street, between South Race Street and Railroad Avenue in Georgetown. Satchell pulled the car door open, put a gun to the woman's head and demanded her belongings, said Georgetown Police Department Detective Joseph Melvin.

After Satchell reached inside the vehicle and grabbed the woman's purse, she then hit the woman in the back of the head numerous times with the gun before fleeing the scene, Melvin said.

About two hours later, Millsboro police were called to the parking lot of BJ’s Wholesale Club for a robbery complaint. The victim reported she was sitting in a vehicle when she was approached by a woman who reached into the vehicle and grabbed the victim's purse.

The victim tried to hold on to her purse, but the suspect gained control and fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV.

Georgetown detectives were able to link Satchell to both robberies, Melvin said.

Satchell was arrested by Georgetown police without incident Nov. 3 and is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, aggravated menacing and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. She also is charged by Millsboro police with second-degree robbery. Satchell was arraigned and jailed at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $117,000 secured bail.
