Milton Workshop members to read at Suburban Farmhouse Dec. 15

December 6, 2017

Members of The Milton Workshop, a local writing group formed in March 2015 by author Dianne Pearce, will perform a live reading at 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at The Suburban Farmhouse Coffee Shop in Milton. Authors will be reading selections from "Solstice," an anthology of tales inspired by the winter season, newly published by Devil's Party Press. The event is open to the public.

D. Beals, William F. Crandell, David Dutton, TJ Lewes, Bayne Northern, Dianne Pearce, Mark Polo, Judith Speizer Crandell, Carrie Sz Keane, and David Yurkovich will each perform short readings. The event will include an in-store book signing.

The Milton Workshop coordinated the event with Kristen Latham who, with Nikki Kotwika and Stephanie Przygocki, owns and operates The Suburban Farmhouse Coffee Shop, which opened in early October 2017. "We are excited to host the Milton Workshop authors, and we look forward to having everyone from the town and neighboring areas join us for a drink and pastry while enjoying the readings from this unique winter collection," said Latham.

"The Suburban Farmhouse has a wonderfully eclectic and intimate vibe, making it the perfect venue for this type of event. We're thrilled that Kristen has been so very supportive and will be hosting us," said Yurkovich. In 2017, Yurkovich was awarded an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of the Arts. Milton author David Dutton, a former DDOA Artist Fellow, contributed two stories as well as the preface for "Solstice."

The Suburban Farmhouse Coffee Shop, at 108 Federal St. in historic Milton, will be extending its regular business hours for the performance.
