Mindset, Movement, Motivation for youth to start Feb. 1

January 7, 2021

Mindset, Movement, Motivation – Be a Glow-Getter is a four-week, empowering online workshop to be held for middle and high school students Mondays, Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22.

Workshop creators Jude Block of Ever-Present Yoga and Melissa Clampitt of Your Lifestyle H.O.A. will facilitate. Grades 6-8 will meet via Zoom from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and grades 9-12 will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The mind/body connection and the important role it plays in athletic training will be explored along with how to feel present in the power of positivity. Participants will discover why setting intentions, visualizing talents and having the right mindset can improve overall performance.

Breath and body awareness are important tools for keeping an athlete’s attention in the present moment. Attendees will learn how these are keys to creating focus and clarity while providing an overall sense of calm and well-being. Yoga poses will be practiced with breath and movement linked together to build strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and endurance.

Participants will experience elevated energy with these strategies while feeling the benefits of improved concentration, self-esteem and confidence. Participants will feel empowered to achieve whatever they set their minds to do.
