The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is revving up for its 17th Annual Monster Mile Walk for a Cause Sunday, Oct. 11, at Dover Motor Speedway.
Bringing together participants, survivors, families and local businesses from across the state, the event offers a special opportunity to walk or run on one of Delaware’s most legendary sports venues while making a direct, positive impact on local lives.
In addition to the traditional 1-mile walk, this year’s event features a brand-new timed 5K race.
Registration opens at 10 a.m., and races begin at 11 a.m.
Beyond the track, attendees will enjoy a vibrant community festival atmosphere complete with music, face painting, food vendors, family activities and local vendor booths.
“Whether you choose to participate in our traditional 1-mile walk or take on our new timed 5K race, every step you take helps fuel DBCC’s lifesaving mission," said Francesca Vogel, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition CEO. "Together, we’ll celebrate survivors, honor loved ones, and stand alongside the families and individuals in our community whose lives have been touched by breast cancer,”
Every dollar raised through the event directly supports the coalition's statewide programs to provide crucial breast health education, free screening access, personalized patient navigation, survivorship services and emergency financial assistance to individuals and families facing a breast cancer diagnosis throughout Delaware.
Participants and teams are encouraged to form fundraising groups, show off their creative flair and strive for victory.
