The Moorings’ Walters appointed vice president of Delaware Board of Nursing

The Moorings at Lewes announced Kenyette Walters, LPN, has been appointed vice president of the Delaware Board of Nursing.

The state board’s primary objective is to protect public health, safety and welfare. To safeguard life and health, the board develops standards for professional competency, promulgates rules and regulations, adjudicates complaints against professionals and imposes disciplinary sanctions when necessary. The board is also responsible for issuing licenses to registered nurses, practical nurses and advanced practice registered nurses.

In 2012, Walters completed nursing school and obtained her LPN license from Polytech Adult Education. Her experience includes charge nurse and dementia programming for a large long-term care program, assisted living supervisor and admissions nurse. She is a member of the National Council of Certified Dementia Care Practitioners and specializes in geriatric psychology, dementia and behavioral health. Walters also teaches clinical instruction for a medical assistance program at Polytech Adult Education. She has been serving The Moorings at Lewes since January 2019.
