More police needed at intersections

October 11, 2019

I write in support of Wayne Hodge’s letter in the Aug. 23 issue of the Cape Gazette, which highlighted the issue of motorists blocking the intersections on Coastal Highway.

Our conduit to the outside world is Postal Lane in Lewes, and on Fridays and Saturdays in particular, one invariably times out of the all-too-brief green light to turn left onto Route 1 due to motorists stuck in the intersection after their thwarted bid to beat the lights.

I agree with Mr. Hodge’s suggestion that police should spend a weekend or two handing out tickets to such offenders in an effort to change such ill-considered behavior.
