Myrna Elizabeth Willoughby, loving homemaker

Myrna Elizabeth Willoughby, 78, of Millsboro, formerly of Delaware County, Pa., passed peacefully at home into the gates of heaven Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, while surrounded by her loving family.

Myrna was born April 30, 1941, and resided in Darby, Pa., where she eventually met the love of her life, Robert "Stump" Willoughby. They were married for 38 years. They were the perfect example of what true love is.

Myrna was a homemaker who loved her children and adored her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed time with her family, the shore, fishing and especially the slots! She will most be remembered for being an extremely strong woman.

Myrna is survived by her four children, Sheri Sweeney (George), Robert Willoughby Jr. (Dan Slagle), Lori Hopkins (Bill) and Wendy McVicker (John) as well as nieces and nephews.

Myrna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Willoughby; mother, Asenath Murphy; sister, Marlene Maiellano and her grandsons, Jason Sweeney and Cody Hopkins.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may visit after 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
