Myrtle R. Hudson, loved time with family

Myrtle R. Hudson, 95, of Selbyville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Myrtle was born in Gumboro March 5, 1923, daughter of the late George Washington Wells and the late Minnie (Ellingsworth) Wells. She worked at Showell Hatchery as a chicken vaccinator, and then worked for several years for the Kings Arms Hotel in Ocean City, Md.

Mrs. Hudson was an avid reader, an amazing cook and also loved time spent with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Levin D. Hudson; an infant child; and her five siblings, Georgia, Pearl, Helen, Lula and Ray. She is survived by her six children, Clint Short, Barbara Hall, Harvey Short, Carol Richardson, Gary Short and Judy Bennett; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A graveside service will be held at noon, Thursday, May 17, at Line Community Cemetery, Line Church Road, Whitesville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in her name to the American Heart Association.
