Nancy Lynn Petraitis, American Legion member

Nancy Lynn Petraitis departed this life Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes from a massive stroke. She was born June 20,1960, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Samuel and Dolores McPhail.  She graduated from Mastbaum High School in Philadelphia and received her CDL from Delaware Technical Community College.  On May 24,1997, she married William Petraitis, and from that matrimony she raised three daughters and helped to raise five grandchildren. Nancy was a member of the American Legion Post 17 in Lewes.  
She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren, and also going on family outings.  Her family paid tribute to her: Nancy was beloved by all, and will be sorely missed by family, friends, and the community.
She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Dolores; her brothers Dave and Steven; her nephew David; and her husband William.
She was survived by her brother, James; her three daughters, Nicole, Kasey, and Holly; her grandchildren, James, Kaitlyn, Dakota, Sebastian and Spencer; also her friend Samuel.
Celebration of life service will be held Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m., at The Oak Orchard Community Church 32615 Oak Orchard Rd Millsboro. Family and friends may  visit one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any one of the children, Nicole, Kasey or Holly.
