National Kidney Foundation holds Southern Delaware walk

May 2, 2019

The National Kidney Foundation held its 11th Annual Southern Delaware Kidney Walk April 28 at Cape Henlopen State Park. The walkers helped raise funds for research, patient assistance, education and research. Several speakers addressed the teams of walkers with their stories about kidney disease and testimonials.

The Southern Delaware Kidney Walk for the benefit of The National Kidney Foundation succeeded in raising almost $50,000 for research to help the spreading number of people, now totaling 30 million Americans, who suffer the life-threatening effects of kidney disease.

Doctors, nurses, and more than 100 walkers participated in the annual event. Before the walk stepped off, actual kidney donors addressed the crowd with compelling personal stories of their decision to give the gift of a kidney.
