National Theatre Live screenings of ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ to begin March 10

March 9, 2018

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society announces the next play in the series of National Theatre Live screenings. This groundbreaking project presents the best of British theater live from the London stage on film to cinemas around the world.

Tennessee Williams' 20th century masterpiece "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" played a strictly limited season in London's West End in 2017. It stars Benedict Andrews and Sienna Miller alongside Jack O'Connell and Colm Meaney.

On a steamy night in Mississippi, a Southern family gathers at their cotton plantation to celebrate Big Daddy's birthday. The scorching heat is almost as oppressive as the lies they tell. Brick and Maggie dance round the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage. With the future of the family at stake, which version of the truth is real – and which will win out?

Screenings will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, March 10; 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 12; and 6 pm., Tuesday, March 13, at the Cinema Art Theater, 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza behind the Lewes Wawa. Admission for National Theatre Live is $18 for film society members, $20 general admission and $15 for ages 16 and under. Online reservations are encouraged and may be made with MasterCard or VISA.
