New items available at MERR Finraiser Nov. 17 in Rehoboth

November 14, 2018

The stage is being set in the newly remodeled Salero restaurant atop the Henlopen Hotel for this year’s annual Finraiser, set to begin at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, to benefit the Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute.

The Finraiser is one of the area’s premier fundraising events, and MERR Executive Director Suzanne Thurman said even though Salero has been the event’s home for the past few years, it promises to be an all-new experience. “The establishment has undergone a completely new renovation, and we are excited to be able to showcase it along with all the incredible auction items,” she said.

Among the featured auction goodies is a Cape Water Taxi private, catered cruise for 30 people. Local hotel-restaurant packages, original artwork, catered dinners and brunches, sailboat cruises, golf packages, kayak tours, and beer and wine baskets will also be up for bid.

Happy hour from 4 to 5 p.m. will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine tasting and celebrity bartenders. Complimentary champagne will be provided, as well as live music by 33 1/3. Auctioneer Frank McCragen will once again be at the helm to keep audiences laughing and bidding.

Guests will also have opportunities to meet members of the Marine Education Research and Rehabilitation Institute team, and learn about their numerous efforts and rescues throughout the year. Tickets are $70, with all proceeds going toward the nonprofit organization’s efforts in marine mammal and sea turtle rescue.

To order tickets for an evening of music, food, fun and fantastic gifts that support a great cause, call 302-228-5029 or email merrinstitute@gmail.com.
