Special World Day of Prayer set May 7
As one of his last acts as pastor of St. Jude The Apostle Church, Fr. Tom Flowers has invited members of the community to honor first responders, healthcare workers and their support staff, employees of grocery stores and pharmacies, and U.S. military Thursday, May 7.

The annual National Day of Prayer offers a perfect opportunity to stand in solidarity in an act of gratitude and to set aside, at least for a minute or two, the terrible divisions that haunt this nation.

Flowers has asked churches to ring bells, fire houses to sound sirens, and community organizations and individuals to ring bells and other noise makers at 3 p.m. that afternoon.  He has written to President Trump, asking him to suggest this to citizens in the proclamation he will issue for May 7.

“Imagine how we will feel,” he noted, “if we can stand on our front steps and hear sirens, whistles, and bells ringing from every home around us!”  For more information, contact Flowers at 302-382-0914.
