Lewes historic preservation to meet June 4
The Lewes Historic Preservation Architectural Review Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, at city hall. The public is invited to comment on the proposed demolition of a rear portion of the home at 203 E. Market St. The plan also includes renovations to the existing structure and the construction of a new addition.
Following the public hearing, the commission will hold its regular meeting. Commissioners may make a decision on the Market Street home and consider a request for the construction of a new one-and-a-half-story dwelling and detached accessory structure at 403 Railroad Ave., a request for the construction of a second-floor addition on the front portion of the existing dwelling located at 331 Mulberry St., a request for the construction of an new addition to the rear of the dwelling at 330 Pilottown Road, and a request for the replacement of 14 windows and one door on the dwelling at 229 Second St. For more information, call city hall at 302-645-7777.
Lewes Mitigation Planning Team to meet June 4
The Lewes Mitigation Planning Team will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, at city hall.

Rehoboth law oversight committee to meet June 5
The Rehoboth Beach Law Oversight Committee has scheduled a meeting for 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for an update on administrative variances and continued discussion of the city’s tree ordinance.

Henlopen Acres budget meeting set June 7
The Henlopen Acres Board of Commissioners has scheduled a budget meeting for 10 a.m., Friday, June 7, in town hall, 104 Tidewaters.
The agenda calls for a review and possible action on a proposed budget for the next fiscal year, which begins July 1. There will also be the adoption of a tax rate, water rates and fee schedule. Dewey marketing committee to meet June 7
The Dewey Beach Marketing Committee will meet at 4 p.m., Friday, June 7, at the Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. Members will discuss the marketing budget and review the marketing roadmap, and may vote to recommend to town commissioners a social media policy and implementation proposal.
Temporary closure for Sassafras Landing ramp begins June 3
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environtmental Control’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced May 31 the boat ramp at Sassafras Landing will be closed from Monday through Thursday, during a three-week period beginning Monday, June 3. The temporary closure is needed to provide construction access for a shoreline stabilization project. The Sassafras Landing boat ramp, located within the Assawoman Wildlife Area, will be open with limited parking Friday through Sunday during this time period.
The shoreline stabilization project will protect an adjacent pond managed for freshwater plants attractive to water birds, and will stabilize and enhance the shoreline with native marsh plants. A series of 50- to 100-foot-long rows of rocks will be placed in the water parallel to the shoreline, with clean sand placed between the rock and the shoreline where native marsh grasses will be planted to protect the shoreline and provide valuable wildlife habitat. The project will decrease wave energy to reduce shoreline erosion.
The rock rows will have small gaps installed to allow fish and terrapin passage. The boat ramps and crabbing piers at both Mulberry and Strawberry Landings within the Assawoman Wildlife Area will be open during the construction project.
