Lewes business district parking meeting Oct. 11
The Lewes Business District Parking Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, at city hall. The group will discuss replacement of parking meters and single-space meters versus multi-space kiosks. The committee will also discuss expansion of the parking meter area, then talk about potential recommendations to city council. For more information, call city hall at 302-645-7777.

Lewes BPW schedules power outages Oct. 15-19
The Lewes Board of Public Works will have scheduled power outages Oct. 15-19 to replace the broken switch gear at the connection between Delmarva Power and the Lewes BPW. It will be a system-wide outage. The first outage will start Monday, Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m. and end Tuesday at 5 a.m. The next outage will begin Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 11:59 p.m. and end Wednesday at 5 a.m.

It will continue with an outage Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 11:59 p.m. and end Thursday at 5 a.m. The last outage will begin Thursday, Oct. 18 at 11:59 p.m. and end Friday at 5 a.m. The safety of the crews working on this project makes the power outages essential. Anyone with medical equipment that must be operative in a 24-hour period should take the necessary precautions ahead of time. For more information, call the BPW office at 302-645-6228.

Railroad to close Freeman Highway at railroad crossing Oct. 15-18
Freeman Highway in Lewes will be closed at the railroad crossing near the intersection of Cape Henlopen Drive from 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, to 11:59 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, as crews work to remove the railroad from the roadway. Detours will take motorists onto Savannah Road. Signage will be posted for motorists. 

Rehoboth Bandstand committee to meet Oct. 12
The Rehoboth Beach Bandstand/Convention Hall/Special Events Committee has scheduled a meeting for 9 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for discussions on weddings and budget. Rehoboth streets committee to meet Oct. 12
The Rehoboth Beach Streets and Transportation Committee has scheduled a meeting for 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for discussion on a possible bike loop. Rehoboth planners to meet Oct. 12
The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission has scheduled a meeting for 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave.
The agenda calls for a review of a proposed Rehoboth Avenue development for Clear Space Theatre Company. There will also be an update on the 2020 Comprehensive Development Plan. Hollis Road closed until Oct. 12
Removal and replacement of a crossroad pipe will require closure of Hollis Road between Steiner Road and Springfield Road in Harbeson until 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12. Detour route is Hollis Road to Steiner Road onto Route 9 to Park Avenue to Springfield Road and return to Hollis Road. Detour signage will be posted.

Henlopen Acres BOA meeting Oct. 10
The Henlopen Acres Board of Adjustment has scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, in town hall, 104 Tidewaters. The agenda calls for administrative business to be conducted – the introduction of new members, and the election of chairman, vice chairman and secretary. For more information call 302-227-6411. Henlopen Acres Board meeting Oct. 12
The Henlopen Acres Board of Commissioners has scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, in the town hall, 104 Tidewaters. The agenda calls for appointing a member to the environmental approval committee and two members to the tree committee.
