Lewes planners to meet Oct. 17
The Lewes Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, at city hall. The group will take care of administrative business from 6 to 7 p.m., including a presentation on wetlands and buffers from expert Thom Nobile of ERI Consultants. At 7 p.m., the commission will consider applications. Preston Schell of Ocean Atlantic Companies is seeking to consolidate the Newsham property, less than an acre in size, with the larger Beebe property along Savannah Road. The Beebe property was approved for R-5, mixed residential zoning, earlier this year.

Commissioners will then consider preliminary consent for a proposed major subdivision known as Fishers Cove, consisting of three parcels along Pilottown Road near Rodney Avenue. The developer, who was not named on the agenda, is seeking to build 18 single-family homes on 12.06 acres. One existing dwelling would remain as part of the plan. Rehoboth tree committee to meet
The Rehoboth Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Trees has scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for discussion on educational opportunities, Arbor Day 2019 and the vision for 2019. Special Rehoboth meeting set Oct. 19
Rehoboth Beach Board of Commissioners has scheduled a special meeting regarding city parking for 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. This is the second special meeting on the subject since the city’s parking committee submitted proposed parking changes in August. Regular Rehoboth meeting set Oct. 19
Rehoboth Beach Board of Commissioners will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for a permit of compliance hearing for Nalu Hawaiian Surf Bar & Grill at 41 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda also calls for possible votes on charter changes related to voting rights, the appointment of a chair to the personnel committee, live streaming commissioner meetings and a special-events ordinance. Milton police to hold drug take-back Oct. 27
Milton Police Department will host a national drug take-back from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 101 Federal St.
Citizens are encouraged to bring in expired or unused prescription drugs to be disposed of in a safe fashion. For more information, call Milton police at 302-684-8547.

Dewey Town Council to meet Oct. 20
Dewey Beach commissioners will hold their monthly meeting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. Commissioners will discuss and possibly vote to approve the town whistleblower protection policy and proposed Law Enforcement Support Program Compliance Policy and Guidelines, and to participate in a surface water planning grant application regarding Silver Lake.

Commissioners will review amended Resolution 139 that establishes guidelines for committees, working groups and task groups.
Commissioners will discuss and possibly vote to appoint a chair and commissioner liaison for town committees. 

Dewey Planning Commission to meet
The Dewey Planning Commission will hold a meeting and public hearing at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at the Lifesaving Station, 1 Dagsworthy Ave. The commission will discuss and possibly vote to make a recommendation via ordinance about NR Zone side-yard setbacks on corner lots and reducing the setback from 15 feet.
