Nick Caggiano Sr. to be honored at Community Unity dinner Dec. 5

November 4, 2021

During Rehoboth Beach Main Street’s annual Community Unity Dinner, Nick Caggiano Sr. will be honored as the 2021 Citizen of the Year.

Event Chair Jen Carroll, board members and volunteers presented Caggiano with balloons to celebrate sharing the news of this honor.

“Nick Caggiano Sr. is being honored because we simply love him; he has given back to the community by graciously donating, preparing and serving his famous Sugo sauce, pasta and meatballs to 400-plus guests each year at the annual Community Unity Dinner since 1994, and has been running a family-owned and family-oriented restaurant serving lunch and dinner for 50 years,” said Carroll.

The Community Unity Dinner will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. All are welcome, and tickets will be sold at the door.

This year, Sazio and Big Fish Charitable Foundation will be providing the pasta meal, along with many other downtown restaurants donating the salads, wine and beer, bread and butter, and desserts.

The cost is $20 for an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner with salad, bread, cake, ice cream, coffee and soda, and wine and beer for those 21 and older. Children ages 10 and under are admitted free.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, as well as a letters for Santa mailbox drop-off. There will be a craft table for kids and a raffle for a downtown business gift basket.
