Outlet Liquors 5K is an unusual name for a race featuring an age group distribution of fit people who slog and slosh through the early-morning rain like Gordan Lightfoot through a folk song.
Jeffery Lee, 43, of Arlington, Va., was the overall winner in 18:30. Angela Messick, 37, of Milton secured her first overall women's title in 22:20.
Matthew Klein, 43, of Claymont was second overall and first in the male masters division in 19:57.
Andy Gorlich, 41, of Milton was third overall in 20:22.
The running group Black Girls Run, Delaware Chapter, observed its 10th year running as part of a national chapter. The national chapter began in 2009 and is now a national network with thousands of local members.
