Lewes police, fire and others benefit from chicken dinners

The Pong Bros held its fourth annual community fundraiser July 12 at the Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary’s pavilion on Savannah Road in Lewes, where chicken platters could be puchased for $10. All proceeds benefits the Lewes Police Department, Lewes Fire Department, the Delaware Community Foundation Youth Philanthropy Board and a new scholarship endowment for Beebe Healthcare nurses seeking to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist. The event was in honor of Taylor Marshall Keen and Ralph Williams.
More than 300 chicken platters were sold at the event.
The Pong Bros group started with seven guys connecting over playing ping pong on Tuesday evenings. It was about competition, connection and friendship. It then evolved into a fundraiser to give back to the community by raising money for local organizations.
