O’Grady-Crystle engagement announced

November 12, 2020

Aboard the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Nov. 7, Brandon Crystle popped the question to Erin O’Grady, and she said yes.

After the proposal, their family members got on board in Lewes to surprise the future bride and groom. They all celebrated at the Willow Creek Winery and in downtown Cape May before returning to celebrate on the Delaware side.

O’Grady is from Manalapan, N.J., and Crystle is from Newark. Having spent a lot of time at the seashore growing up, they share a love of the ocean, beaches and boats.

Crystle spent most of his summers in Rehoboth where his grandparents lived. More recently his parents have retired in Lewes and the couple have continued to go to the beach there and dine in town. He also has worked in Lewes at Grotto Grand Slam and the former Gatehouse restaurant.

O’Grady’s family vacationed every year in Cape May, so Crystle thought it meaningful to propose on the ferry between New Jersey and Delaware.

The couple will reside in West Chester, Pa., where he works at Vangurd as a stockbroker and she is a social worker at nearby Coatesville High School.
