Fall is finally here, and Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant will celebrate Oktoberfest, with clogs and lederhosen optional.
The popular brewery and restaurant will roll out a special menu of German-inspired plates starting Friday, Sept. 28, in celebration of the autumn harvest season. Iron Hill will also offer its crowd-pleasing, seasonal Oktoberfest lager on draft. The German-style festival beer is a medium-bodied lager with a wonderful malty and bready aroma, a firm malt flavor balanced with mild bitterness, along with a clean, dry finish and 6 percent ABV. Oktoberfest will also be available for takeout in 16-oz cans for $16.75/four-pack, while supplies last.
Germanophiles can enjoy the special menu and lager through Sunday, Oct. 14.
Menu items will include Oktoberfest egg rolls with bratwurst, Vienna Red Lager bacon sauerkraut, cheddar cheese, green onion and beer mustard dipping sauce; Schlachtplatte, grilled butcher’s plate with cheddar bratwurst, beef knockwurst, smoked pork loin, German-style potato salad, Vienna Red Lager bacon sauerkraut, and beer mustard sauce; Jaegerschnitzel, pan-fried pork cutlets, herbed spaetzel, haricots verts and roasted mushroom Wee Heavy Ale sauce; Hackbraten, German-style meatloaf, buttery smashed Yukon gold potatoes, Vienna Red Lager braised red cabbage and caramelized onion Abbey Dubbel Ale sauce; and Apple Bread Pudding, warm apple golden raisin bread pudding, rum sauce and vanilla ice cream.
