One killed by train in Lincoln

Police are investigating  the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a train south of Lincoln on Sept. 7.

The incident happened at 9:25 p.m. when a southbound Delmarva Central Railroad train struck a pedestrian who was on the tracks, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police. The person, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene, Fournier said. The conductor was able to bring the train to a stop after the collision.

The investigation into this incident is in the early stages and more information will be released when it becomes available.
